Treating Pimples on Your Neck
Nothing spoils a mood like waking up with a big red Zit – especially on a part of your body where you usually don’t have rashes, like in your neck. Finding a neck pimple can be nerve-wracking and make you wonder how you got it worldwide. But before you start drawing hasty conclusions, it’s not entirely unusual to have a flaw in this area. In fact, explains Dr. Michelle Henry, dermatologist based in New York and advisor to L’Oreal Paris, as the face and back: “the neck is an area where we often have body acne.”Below she explains to us what can cause this neck pain and how to treat it.
What causes a throat pimple?
“People can have neck pimples for the same reasons that we have Facial acne and Back acne,” says Dr. Henry, and this is usually due to genetic and hormonal factors. According to The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), hereditary genes may play a role in genetic acne. Hormonal acne, on the other hand, is caused by fluctuating hormonal changes in the body, the AAD says. These usually range from blackheads and whiteheads to painful cysts.
“Neck pimples can also be due to heavy products, lack of peeling or certain medications,” adds Dr. Henry. For this reason, exfoliation and the use of products with non-comedogenic formulas are an essential part of your skin care. Other causes may be Stress, side effects of certain medications and even an undiagnosed health-issue..

It contains salicylic acid and glycolic acid, a resurfacing agent that visibly brightens and smoothes the skin. But as always, if these over-the-counter treatments don’t eliminate your acne, you should consult your dermatologist.
